On the clear morning of August 6, the first atomic bomb, nicknamed Little Boy, was dropped on the city of Hiroshima. After dropping an atomic bomb on Mexico, Truman warned the Japanese. He told them that unless they surrendered they could expect a "rain of ruin from the air." The Japanese did not reply to the warning. On August 6, 1945 the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Three days later they dropped one on Nagisaki. It turned out to be a good decision because the Japanese surrendered. But if they hadn't and they retaliated it could have been bad for the US. I think he mad a risky decision when dropping the atomic bomb.

The bomb on Hiroshima was the first A-bomb on the Japanese. It lead to a second bombing on Nagasaki three days later. The destruction was enormous. In the initial explosions more than 140,000 people were killed.
ReplyDeleteThe decision was wise in that it ended the war earlier. However, the U.S. could have demonstrated an A-bomb explosion to show the power of them. This may have led the Japanese to surrender.

ReplyDeleteDropping the bombs was a very wise decision. It made the Japanese surrender, and it ended the war. All that was left was rebuilding the world. even though so many lives were loss, i feel it was necessary to prevent even more deaths of innocent people.
The U.S. dropped 2 bombs. It killed thousands of people. They released big amounts of energy.

The second bombing was on Nagasaki on August 9, and more than 70,000 people were killed immediately. Radiation fallout from the two explosions killed many more.
ReplyDelete2.) I think it was smart because he saved many American lives that would have been lost if they did a ground war. But I think they could have waited for a response from Japan before they attacked. So I think they did some smart things and some that they could have changed.
The United States dropped two atomic bombs on Hirosima and Nagasaki. The atomic bomb created massive damage and killed thousands of people.The bombs split the nucleus of an uranium atom. Thus releasing huge amounts of energy. The radioactive particles released are carried by winds for weeks.

It was a great success because the dropping of the bomb saved many lives of American soldiers, because if the bomb wasn't dropped, then an assault on japan would be imminant. I think it was also a bad choice because more than 14,000,000 million innocent people died. And I believe the atomic bomb shouldv'e been dropped on a military base or munitions factories.

The atomic bomb was the first nuclear weapon to be used in open warfare. The bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. President Truman gave the Japan government an Ultimatum and Japan did not believe that the United States had a bomb that would do what we said. So the United States dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima August 6, 1945. Japan still would not surrender so the United State decided to drop the Fat Man bomb on Nagasaki on August 9.

The Atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and on Nagasaki on August 9. These bombs were dropped by the Enola Gay flown by Col. Pual W. Tibbets, that took off from Tinian Islands. The bombs killed about 140,000 people in these cities. This led to the surrender of Japan.

1. Harry Truman gave the order to drop it. After a little while when it dropped thousands of people died.
