Delete1) Because Andrew was looking through the eyes of a multimillionaire. Friedrich was a manager of a textile industry and had seen all of the city slum and the bad parts of industrialism. Andrew has an easy life in the better parts of industrialism.
ReplyDelete2) Because she is a girl and girls didn't get as much working rights as the boys did. She was happy with her job because she has good opportunity in the spinning room. She feels equal.
3) Because capitalism was seen as evil while socialism was rescuing. People might take that seriously and leave capitalism for socialism.
I think that it is cool that Mary got treated well. Not very many women did, and i think that it was a big step in their life.

They will use the means of production as an advantage and the money they get for it will only cover the prices for them. Friedrich Engels said that nobody cares about the poor people as they are not doing good in the new industrialized life. The rich may be able to find a job. The wages of a worker are very low and they can hardly pay off. If the person can't find a job then they are left to starve.
ReplyDelete2) Mary Paul worked in a textile industry. Her overseer probably is in a socialistic economy. The workers are treated fairly rather than poorly in a capitalistic economy.
3) The political cartoon may be useful because bats are commonly known as evil or bad animals. Angels are always a sign of peace and love. In this cartoon if a bat is eating a guy, that is bad, while an angel is over the bat. It will make people think that the angel is coming to save the people. In other words that socialism is coming to save everyone from capitalism.

3) The cartoon is showing that Capitalism is just sucking the life out of the laborers. It also depicks that Socialism is there to try to save the laborer from the harm of Capitalism. Due to the fact that is it showing Capitalism as killing and Socialism as the angle saving them the people would think that Socialism would be the way to go if they want saved.

3.) The bat representing capitalism is feasting upon the body of the common worker. The angel of socialism may be seen as the working class's salvation. If they strove for socialism, they may have better lives.

Delete1. Andrew believed that having a competing in the markets of the world will be its biggest benefit. Friedrich thought that when their is a capitalistic country workers die and go broke, loose money and have no way of keeping afloat with the middle or even lower classes.

3. Capitalism will kill you. Capitalistic countries will work you and not give you what you need but if you join the socialist group they can give you a better life and you can have no battle for wealth over the government.

1) They probably dissagree with industrialization because poeple were not happy with it. It made everyone work more or they lost their jobs. People that worked too much never got paid much either.

3) The cartoon shows someone dying and an angle coming to save him. i think this will persuade people to rally for socialism beacuse its showing that no matter how hard it gets there will be a happy ending.
1.) I think Andrew Carnegie was probably for capitalism, whereas Friedrich Engels was totally for socialism. Andrew believed that it was perfectly okay for the people to work hard for their keep, but Friedrich thought that it was mean to the people. He wanted the money and goods to be divided among the people equally.
ReplyDelete2.) Mary Paul probably was tired of just sitting around and doing the normal housewife kind of things and not being able to do what the men did: truly work. She was actually earning money and finally wasn't stuck at home doing the "normal" things. Her boss also was very pleased with her work, so that made her even happier.
3.) It may show people that capitalism (as he views it) is slowly eating away at mankind and its freedoms and fairness. It might allow people to see that socialism could save all of the people and prevent those terrible things from happening. Everybody would receive equal amount of money and such. It also says that the workers are being worked too hard and being treated unfairly.
I think you're right about mary being tired of being a house wife.
