Aristotle came up with a theory that stated that the Earth was the center of the universe and was called geocentric theory. Copernicus came up with a new theory to prove Aristotle that stated that the sun was the center of the universe called the heliocentric theory. Galileo put his life on the line and had to lie to save his life even though he believed Copernicus was right the church targeted him and were going to kill him but they didnt because he lied.

Voltaire used satire against his opponents. He poked at clergy, philosophy, and drama. Even with all of these enemies, he never stopped fighting for tolerance, and the freedoms of speech and religion.
